Autumn

tardor a les vinyes

Fall in love with the colors, the charming villages and the activities of the Penedès Wine Route in our “second summer”

Autumn is a season with very favorable temperatures in Penedès and often it is amlost a second summer until early November. Just think about wearing a jacket in the mornings and evenings. The rest of the time, take advantage of the warm-mild temperatures to take out your bike, prepare a walking route and a picnic and visit any of our heritage sites: Iberian, Romanesque, Gothic and Modernist remains, among others.

Autumn completely changes the color of our landscape. In late September and early October you can still see vineyards being harvested, especially in higher grounds, where some red grape enter the cellars to get pressed and make the wines. Therefore, some wineries may still offer harvest-related activities.

If you are not on time to enroll in the harvest, you can always enjoy wine tourism in all its forms. Penedès Wine Route offers many good things to do in autumn: picnics among vineyards, wine and food tastings in the cellars, activities that allow you to be close to the vineyard - maybe on foot, maybe on an electric bike. If you want to go for a sip in a wine bar, we recommend to book in advance, because they are ideal at this time of year and they are very popular with both locals and outsiders!

In addition, it is hard to deny the attractiveness of autumn all around Penedès, when the vineyards shine with vibrant colors of orange, red, gold and yellow. Just visiting us for a photo shoot is worth it, especially to take a snapshot of the red vines in the Aiguaviva area. But since you are coming, make sure to visit our main tourist attractions, the museums that tell you all about the origins of wine and cava or do the Miravinya family route, to discover the most curious Penedès and its 5 unique architectural viewpoints.

With all these reasons, it is certainly not surprising that autumn is one of the busiest times of the year in Penedès.
