Sant Pere de Riudebitlles

Town
Sant Pere de Riudebitlles

Sant Pere de Riudebitlles, located in the north of the Penedès region, is a small village with a history linked to the vineyard, but also very close to the paper industry and the use of the water from the Riudebitlles. This industry has left a very interesting heritage, such as canals, aqueducts, small dams, mills...

If you come to Sant Pere, visit the "Barri Vell" (Old Quarter). It is worth walking through its streets... highlighting the “Casal dels Marquesos de Llió”, the “Plaça de l'Èsglésia” (Church Square) or the Cal Xerta Mill.

The Riudebitlles stream has created many nice corners that make the walk along the Camí del Riu (Stream path) very pleasant. We will find the ancient wash house, the Font del Quadres (fountain), the Pèlag Bullidor or the Plàtans del Soler. Its riverside environment is a refuge for the fauna that inhabits it.

On the outskirts of the village it is interesting to visit the Pont Nou Aqueduct, which carried water to 10 paper mills, the Sant Jeroni chapel - from the 17th century-, as well as the Miravinya La Cadira, a viewpoint with a giant chair and 360º views of the Penedès landscape.

Keep in mind the following notable events, to come or return: In spring, the Riudevins - wine exhibition at private old cellars in Barri Vell houses -, the Riudebirres - craft beer festival from the Penedès region -, or El Mitjó - puppet festival -; in summer, the Festival Major -at the beginning of August-, in autumn, the Festa del Most and the Forquilla Riudebitllenca, and also, the Biennal d'Art in even years, and in odd years the Glop d'ART.
