Castellers de Vilafranca

Actiu i aventura

With the name Greentowers, Castellers de Vilafranca and Autentikcat we offer companies, universities, schools, sports teams and various groups a wide range of activities selected with castles that we adapt to the needs of each group.

We offer: Workshops to get to know the castles in an active way. Castle demonstrations of small format for events. Guided visits to Cal Figarot and Vilafranca castellera. Castle activities for students of all ages. Conferences on the world of castles and their social, educational and sporting values aimed at the management of groups of all types.

Casteller workshops
The workshops are to actively promote the castles and to work on their values: teamwork, leadership, participation, integration, commitment, constancy, trust, communication, cohesion, ... We can affect those who want to stand out.

They can be held in the Castellers de Vilafranca premises or in other spaces. If it is in Cal Figarot, social headquarters of the Castellers de Vilafranca, we visit all the spaces of one of the leading gangs in the country and we also see a permanent exhibition of the history of the gang.

These workshops last between one and two hours. We adapt to the needs of the group. Through a brief presentation, a guided tour of the premises and the viewing of a DVD, we will get to know the casteller world in general and our gang in particular. Then we move on to the practical and more dynamic part. As in castles, there is room for everyone. All, from
their possibilities, they will participate in an active way. In the end, with our help, they can end up making a castle and celebrate their achievement.

Demos in small format
For a few years now, due to increasing demand, Castellers de Vilafranca have been offering demonstrations in a small format for companies. For a small-format demonstration we move 30 people
(27 castellers and three musicians, two grallers and a timpanist).

The castles are all made by adults, due to the fact that they are usually during working hours, which increases their degree of difficulty. For this reason, the maximum castle we make, with 27 castellers, is six stories: the three of six net (net means without pineapple).

The standard action is: four of five net with the needle in the middle (the needle is a pillar that remains inside the castle when it is lowered), tower of five net with figurehead (the figurehead is a prop that makes a castellera when lowering the castle), three of six net, and pillar of four.

We adapt but normally, we do three castles and one or two pillars, a classic performance (maximum 1/2 hour). Customers can participate in the pineapples on the pillars.

Guided tours
We will get to know the casteller world in general and our gang in particular by watching an audio-visual, visiting a permanent exhibition of the history of the Castellers de Vilafranca and taking a tour of all the spaces where one of the leading gangs in the country prepares. In this tour we will get to know the costumes, the nomenclature and the castle technique in a participatory way.

These activities become an example, or model, for many business schools and for educational and motivational sessions that aim to dimension and underline values such as effort, teamwork, commitment, constancy, leadership, communication, trust, integration, participation, cohesion...
