Place of interest

The NEAN - Prehistoric Park of Capellades is an equipment of the Capellades City Hall which lies in the municipality called Capelló Cliff. It is an area of great geological and landscape value, as of archaeological interest because of the presence of about twenty archaeological sites from different times.

The Prehistoric Park of Capellades was born in order to protect the natural and archaeological heritage, to make of Capellades a reference point in the archaeological Palaeolithic research, as a centre of disclosure of knowledge about Prehistory in our country, and to consolidate the municipality as a touristic and cultural destiny.

The space included in the Park is formed by the geological formation of travertine of the Capelló Cliff, with a total surface of nearly 50000 m2 and an extension of 1100 lineal metres. It covers all the façade of the city over the Anoia River, which flows at its feet.
