Dani's secret. The silo 169

A land full of secrets that inspires passion for wine

Discovering the hidden treasures of Penedès has never been a flat path. It implies some luck and a lot of devotion to your work, to your land. A land that is the cradle of viticulture in Catalonia: Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Iberians... a land full of secrets that inspires a passion for wine.

They discover the goddess Demeter hidden since the S. III BC

Dani López, archaeologist from La Font de la Caña, still remembers with emotion that hot morning in 2011, when he and his team were preparing to excavate silo 169 of the Iberian site. After days digging up earth, they discover the remains of an Iberian banquet, with a figurine of the goddess of agriculture and fertility Demeter, hidden in mud and clay since the 3rd century BC.

Penedès was born 2700 years ago and it is the origin of the vineyard

Thanks to the efforts of a group of people passionate about history and archaeology, today we can say that Penedès was born 2,700 years ago and that it is the origin of the vineyard.
