Carme and Sergi's Secret. The word “Pèlag”

Carme was very surprised with the word “Pèlag”

Carme and Sergi have a shared secret. At the beginning of their relationship, this couple formed by a natural from Penedès and a woman from Barcelona, were talking about the unusual words spoken in different places in Catalonia. When Sergi described to her the word we use in Penedès to define a “very stable mass of water” she was very surprised: “Pèlag?”. A pool of water?

Carme and Sergi went to Parc dels Talls

When telling her this word, Sergi had in mind the reservoirs that most Penedès people know, but they are undiscovered by many: the Pèlags of Vilobí. Due to the mining exploitation in this town, which goes from Roman times to the end of the 20th century, 4 underground water pools emerged, which now form the complex in the Parc dels Talls.

A beautiful natural space, perfect for walking

Currently, the 4 pools are part of El Parc dels Talls de Vilobí del Penedès, a protected natural area, perfect for walking with your partner, family or friends. An environment full of corners that was the witness of Carme and Sergi very first romantic date.
