Visit the Cloister of Sant Francesc, one of the medieval jewels of Vilafranca del Penedès
The Cloister of Sant Francesc belongs architecturally to the old convent of Sant Francesc, located in Carrer Sant Pere. Although the current Cloister is a construction built from the second third of the 16th century, the Sant Francesc convent dates back to the 13th century (1242) and was located at the foot of the road between Barcelona and Tarragona.
The cloister of Sant Francesc is the only part that has been preserved of the church of the old Franciscan convent, a sober Gothic building from the end of the 13th century of great architectural, artistic and historical value, which became the pantheon of illustrious nobles from Vilafranca and Penedès.
Opening hours:
- From Monday to Friday: from 5pm to 8pm.
- Saturdays and Sundays: from 11am to 2pm.
