At the beginning of the 10th century, Count Sunyer promoted the creation of a city south of the Llobregat. The strategic mountain of Sant Miquel, surrounded by cliffs and where a powerful castellum had been built in Roman republican times, became the chosen place.

From the Roman watchtower, a border castle was created and, at its foot inside the imposing walls, a city with houses, workshops, cellars and barns. The pre-Romanesque church of Sant Miquel and its cemetery of anthropomorphic tombs would be in charge of guarding the souls of Christians.Immediately the city grew and a large suburb outside the walls was created presided over by the church of Santa Maria and its cemetery.

Discover with this visit what life was like in Olèrdola a thousand years ago and what were the key moments in its history, from the struggles against the Saracens to the proclamation of Mir Geribert as Prince of Olèrdola.
