At the end of the 19th century, the municipalities of Terrassola and Lavit were faced with a great dilemma. Since time immemorial they have simply been two neighboring towns but there comes a time when both are too small (and close) to remain as two independent municipalities.
It will not be until the first years of the 20th century that the conversion of the towns of Terrassola and Lavit into a single municipality takes place: Torrelavit.
With this guided tour we will go through the two towns, their medieval and modern past, until the unification of the two towns that knew how to take advantage, in the best possible way, of the water of the Riudebitlles.
