The Festa de la Fil·loxera (Phylloxera Fest) in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia remembers how, at the end of the 19th century, the people of Sadurní defeated the plague of phylloxera that had ravaged the town's vineyards.
The Festival, which is celebrated on the 7th and 8th of September, has fire and music as protagonists.

SEPTEMBER 7
THE SPREAD OF THE PHILLOXERETES

The 30 phylloxetes arrive in Sant Sadurní prepared to attack the streets of the town, organized in two groups that begin their attack by two different itineraries. They regroup half way, where they carry out the first joint assault against the population. After this first attack, they continue their route to meet the big phylloxera, which awaits them in the Era d'en Guineu, and end the spread with the final attack.

SEPTEMBER 8
THE FESTIVAL OF THE PHYLLOXERA

It's 5 minutes to 10pm, at the top of Carrer Raval all the elements are ready and waiting to start the parade where the fire and music will accompany them to Plaça de l'Església.
